Our Work

Sacred Worker Podcast

Workers’ rights should be central to individuals and communities of faith. Why? Because people are our primary concern and so are their needs. Human rights focus on the needs of those who desire to earn a living and build a life where we can thrive.

Join our host, Rev. L. Robin Murray, as she and her guests dig deep into the issues that workers and their families face. We’ll discover how communities of faith can deepen our own understanding and identities as we stand and act with working people. Journey with us as we explore the stories and needs of workers across the country from a multi-faith lens. Equitable wages, dignity in the workplace, race, economy, and more will all be on the table. We will learn, laugh, cry, strategize, and mobilize around key movements that concern workers, employers, unions, and faith communities.

Spirit and Solidarity Planning Session

A national program that will train up multi-faith leaders on the faith+labor movements???? YES PLEASE!

Hello Spirit and Solidarity! 🕊️✊🏾

IN4WS, Wendland-Cook Program in Religion and Justice at Vanderbilt University, Bargaining for the Common Good (BCG), and Center for Innovation in Working Organization at Rutgers (CIWO) brought 30+ people together, from various faith traditions, and from across the country to spend 3 transformative days in NYC. 🙌🏾
We learned, laughed, grounded, clarified, connected, challenged, grew, strategized, and made plans for the launch of Spirit and Solidarity Summer pilot in 2024. We are grateful to those who said, “Yes,” showed up fully present, and shared their wisdom and gifts. We look forward to building out this staple program that we pray lasts for decades to come!
Shoutout to all the amazing facilitators!!! Shoutout to Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) and Union Theological Seminary (UTS) for their hospitality in hosting us! ❤️Check out these pics from the convening (find photos in the existing collateral folder here). #SpiritandSolidarity #FaithandLabor #revolutionary #liberation#InterfaithOrganizing

Check out our conversation with Peyton Thomas, Unaccompanied Minors Escort @ DFW Airport and Resha Thomas, SEIU Texas Executive Vice President from SEIU TX (Service Employees International Union Texas) and Amanda Rivera, Starbucks Shift Supervisor with Starbucks Workers United. We discussed the moves they made in the Summer 2023 and ways communities of faith can show up now and in the future so we can have lasting impacts in the labor movement.

Our very own Revs. L. Robin Murray, Executive Director, and Francisco Garcia, Board Member, have written two great entries worth the read 🤓📚✊🏼(so are the others 😊). Enjoy the readings and video reflections about the importance of Labor Day to communities of faith.
